Namibia

Intro

There is a special connection to Namibia: it is the first country that Eleanor and I have travelled to together. Independently of each other, we had searched the globe for exciting destinations – because two weeks on the beach is not an option for us – and decided on Namibia.

One of the main reasons for this choice was the fascination that emanates from the culture and survival of the Himba. It’s incredible that this people have survived for centuries in a fairly hostile environment, maintaining their culture and way of life.

But the country itself also has a wealth of special features that make a visit an unforgettable experience: a treasure trove of idiosyncratic landscapes, the Namib, a beguilingly beautiful desert, or the Skeleton Coast, a part of the coast whose name refers to the many disasters caused by the sea.

Too much to take in on a single trip…..
